Brian Smith, AMS Motorsport Brian Smith established AMS Motorsport in 1984. Initially the business concentrated on mobile engine tuning but quickly progressed into garage premises. Business expanded steadily and soon encompassed car & bike servicing, repairs and painting.

Brian expanded the business into Motorsport and built and raced cars and bikes in sprints and hillclimbs, an area where the knowledge gained from working on a wide range of cars and bikes became very useful.
 

Many one-off and special cars were constructed including a number of V8 Sunbeams. Other work included rebuilding various old motorbikes.

BRA 289 kit carDuring the 1990's Brian turned his attention to the specialist area of kit cars and, as a result, discovered the wonders of fibreglass.

Very soon AMS was designing and manufacturing fibreglass body panels for Cobra's. In addition Brian designed and produced a number of motorbike race bodywork sets and light weight panels for race cars. AMS were also involved in the design and production of special bodied Aston Martins.
 

AMS Race FairingAs the 1990's progressed the business steered towards motorbikes and other aspects of the business were sold. Brian then concentrated on motorbike race preparation and bodywork.

AMS Motorsport race car developmentBrian's own racing career has led to him building a number of one-off bikes with various types & sizes of engines plus a few single seat race cars including one project which had twin Hyabusa power!

Since moving premises and relocating to North Wales in 2001, AMS Motorsport has concentrated and specialised in ZXR400's and a vast knowledge of these bikes has been gained.

AMS Motorsport is now involved in all aspects of ZXR400's including rebuilding, spares, race & road preparation and racing.

AMS Motorsport is now is one of the leading suppliers of used ZXR400 spares, has over 10,000 parts in stock and has a world-wide customer base.
